Excellent rant.

I most agreed with the need to register in alphabetical order. If I'm there for an 8:30 start time and the P/1/2 doesn't start until noon, why do they have their own line?

Adequate facilities is also key. My favorite was a race at Bear Mountain run by Army. There were 2 port a john's for about 300 people.

Silas

I can understand your frustration with bike races, but behind each of these events are folks working their tails off. Check out an interview with Deiter Drake the man behind Battenkill Roubaix
Battenkill-Roubaix Organizer, Dieter Drake

You should come out to the Syracuse Race Weekend, we aren't perfect but we have been doing it for 10+ years and have things organized... we hope :)

You know you've arrived as a blogger, Cosmo, when you begin receiving anonymous comments from people insulting you because you're too bitchy. It must mean that you're attracting readers who don't actually know you in person.

I mean, for the people reading this blog who know you, the bitching is _why_ we read the blog. It's what makes you Cosmo.
