OK ok—I could keep making these all week, but this’ll be the last one until Specialized actually says something. Hopefully they’ll have taken the going-on-five-days of bombardment to heart and will have sworn off IP bulling. After all, ♫ the sun’ll come out… ♫
[still from a Blu-ray rip of Annie (1982). If you’re familiar with the music, the copy will make more sense]
FACT: this didn’t happen. But this is the message Specialized is sending. More or less:
"We are—and will continue to be—completely unrepentant about bullying small businesses, even when we are 100% in the wrong. Furthermore, we really don’t care how any of you feel about that.
In conclusion, go pound sand.
Oh, and support your local Specialized dealer—thx!”
It’s great that Cafe Roubaix is out of the woods—but the fact that Specialized was trying to enforce a trademark they couldn’t legally claim if anything increases the need for the company to provide an explanation.
