Agree the season needs a structure but………

What team in 3 races at the same time in July? columbia! all strong – loads of wins. Cervelo are running 3 race squads in August. Long gone are the days of 150 race days per year. AC had 56 days off racing before the Tour!
Lance had 4 weeks in the west coast mountains ‘Training’
guys top out at 80 now max per season.

Rest days during the TdF are as much for the viewers as they are for the cyclists!

Agree, following the Tour was quite intense and I needed a chance to regroup.
