He's just warming us up for his (group of investors) purchases the Tour de France. Lance is back racing, the economy is recovering, and risk takers want to help ole bonkers buy the TdF, "the Super Bowl of bike races." And that super bowl will require some schedule adjustments. That said, I do think Colorado deserves to see top European pros back on its soil. I remember in 2007 how happy I was to see TDF-calibre riders crest the top of the Oakville Grade again (having watched such riders crest said grade way back in 1986!), and I'm sure the sight of Saxo-Bank and Columbia jerseys on the old Morgul-Bismarck course would evoke similar feelings in others.
