“A thinking man’s sporting reporter”….exactly! Cosmo, your honorary doctorate in Journalism awaits.
Fun to see how refined your style has become since the first HTRWW.
I agree with Nibbles…you’ve gotten much better and much more entertaining on the HTRWW vids!!!
How will you be watching MSR tomorrow?
I agree on those comments re classifying classics. It always hurt knowing DeliVans only won the “semi-classic” – Fleche Wallone & the un-classified WRC.
The MONUMENTS are existing races that pre-date WW1, I am sure there are any more than 5 world wide, BUT I think the UCI and Eurocentric racing community value EUROPEAN RACES only.
The Aussie race, Melbourne to Warrnambool inaugural race was 1895 and is still running… The Cycling Tips dudes would have ridden it once or twice… It is now UCI categorised, but isn’t everything nowadays?

I would love the UCI to include it, management to change the race date to coincide with TDU and see a 6th Monument enlisted.
The history is full of unknown names. Like Andrew Calder – 1st winner, 3 time fastest Sir Hubert Opperman, Russell Mockridge, Simon Gerrans, B. Heirwegh BEL, & E.E.Doc Smith
