Chris Horner’s Cyclocross Essentials

Posted on 14 December 20094 July 2021 by cosmo

So now that the domestic ‘cross season has (more or less) wrapped up, it’s time to reflect. Did things not go as well as you’d planned? Did the big investment in equipment and training still not pay off on the results sheet?

We at Cyclocosm think that, next season, you could benefit from a better approach:

CHRIS HORNER'S CYCLOCROSS ESSENTIALS from Cosmo Catalano on Vimeo.

There’s also a version on YouTube and a more-or-less complete list of source material.

And we also have t-shirts and a variety of other Cyclocross Essentials merchandise.

Fantastico! Thanks for the laugh. (One thing: crowd control is by Bart Wellens, not Erwin Vervecken).

Gah! No wonder it was so hard to Google. My apologies to both racers.

That’s funny, you’re making fun of Chris Horner and you don’t even know what the 3 time World Champion looks like.

First of all, Wellens and Vervecken don’t exactly look night-and-day different.
Secondly, it’s not like the kick picture is a particularly clear shot of Wellens’s face. The source image I used even has text on it identifying the kicker as Wellens right on it—I just mis-remembered who the kicker was from 2005 and never bothered to check.

I love the people who disregard the greatness of this video only to point out that they are true superfans and are disgusted that you would confuse Wellens and VerVecken…people like this are why motorists try to hit us on our rides.

Genius. Thanks for the laugh. I regularly use all these moves on the course and, yes, at the Disco.

Wellens, schmellens, for some real real punchy action trawl around video sites for Richard Groenendaal giving it to spectators on different sides of the course. He’s got a good right cross for a skinny biker. Vervecken is taller than Wellens and would have struggled to maintain balance whilst administering the roundhouse kick. Bart’s low centre of gravity paid dividends in this instance. That and some fast releasing pedals….

Sorry, but you ruined it in mistaking Wellens for Vervecken. It wasn’t bad up to that point, but parody has to get the facts straight to be funny. Your excuse really didn’t help the cause much either 🙁
