How The Race Was Won – Giro d'Italia – Stages 16-21

Posted on 30 May 20135 July 2021 by cosmo

Finished a full Grand Tour—a certified pro, as Paul Kimmage once said. Great to see Nibali take a few stages to “stamp his authority on the race”; I remember when that phrase meant dumping another two minutes onto your GC rivals on the second mountain stage after merely smashing them on the first. The times—as Danilo Di Luca found out—they are a-changin’. Don’t forget there’s a Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 as well.

Another excellent video! Is there going to be HTRWW for the whole Grande Boucle as well? I’m looking forward to it if there is.

Unfortunately, there almost certainly will not be. But things could change between then and now. I’ll keep you all posted.

Thanks for the video. One comment, Gert Steegmans was a DNS for Stage 14, so he wasn’t leading out Cav for the finish in Stage 21, it was Matteo Trentin. 🙂

Another great and fun video. Love the frequency at which they are coming this year, really hope you can do the Tour. Keep it up!

Man, these are great. I understand if you can’t do the Tour, BUT (and I really hope I’m wrong) the Dauphine might be indicating that you can write like half the script now. Just fill in the details and video later.

Great production. You really do a good job at commenting. I am new to the scene and it really helps.
