How The Race Was Won – Criterium du Dauphine 2014

Posted on 17 June 20144 July 2021 by cosmo

A lot of successful breakaways, early GC action, smart riding, bold moves, and a surprise winner. Stage races should always be this fun—though maybe not so difficult to rework.

I think it’s an interesting question what to make of the Dauphine for the Tour. Froome’s last day would ruin his chances if it would have been at the tour, Contador seemed the strongest but with a weaker squad than Sky and Nibali seemed inferior to both Froome and Contador.

Thanks for doing so many HTRWW’s this year, I appreciate it.
