How The Race Was Won – Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2015

Posted on 1 March 20154 July 2021 by cosmo

HTRWW Het Nieuwsblad 2015, or How To Lose Bike Race. Though to be fair, the victor’s (see how I avoided those spoilers?) team certainly did some good groundwork, and in the end, he didn’t precisely have it handed to him. Some reference material at https://cyclocosm.com/how-to and https://cyclocosm.com/the-break.

I have to admit that I cheered for Stannard, only because I felt that it was about time the evil S juggernaut was beat. Maybe they’ll switch bikes and hire Colombians to replace these three next year. Then again, Sky is itself a juggernaut. How do we root for the underdog any more?

I would have bet everything I own on Stannard to lose that race. Good thing I don’t bet…..
