How The Race Was Won – Tour of Flanders 2016

Posted on 4 April 20164 July 2021 by cosmo

Summing up Tour of Flanders in five minutes is always a challenge. Key points—aggressive racing early didn’t pay off, things calmed down a lot in the middle, Cancellara passing on the move did have some logic to it, and the critical moments were a lot closer than you might think.

It was alright. Better than nothing. The corporate sponsorship sucks though. I also miss seeing you, Cosmo, in HTRWW.

Corporate sponsorship does not suck! Come on, give Cosmo a break. Dude has been bringing us all awesome videos for years and getting very little out of it. Quick shout out to sponsors at least compensates him for taking the time to make these.

Great to see another one this year. Glad you’ve found a way of doing them as well I’ve got no problem with the sponsorship. Hadn’t realised watching it live quite how close Cancellara comes to closing the gap.

    great job,

Sagan was horribly placed all day, from being on the wrong side of every corner 150km out to way to far back on the penultimate ride up the kwaremont. makes his win all the more impressive.

The historical perspective was really nice this week, and added to the discussion as to whether this was a good move to break away so early. Also you can really understand why Fabian didn’t chase after getting the teams sorted out. Glad you are getting sponsorship, and I would ALWAYS sit through cool cycling sponsorship to see your expert analysis.

Key points, with sponsorship you get payment for your work, and we get the benefit of your fun expert commentary, nothing is free folks glad to watch someone sponsor excellent content.
