With three hors categorie climbs, Stage 12 was always going to have an impact. Sky played a role, as you might expect, but some strange decisions from the other teams—not to mention the organizers—had an impact, too. You missed Dumoulin’s shifting problems right before the sprint (or atleast didn’t mention them), that’s probably why Thomas had a big gap at the finish. He apparently was still in the small ring when Landa attacked and didn’t notice that until he wanted to upshift but couldn’t.

My universal reply is also to try using an incognito window, just in case some existing cookie somewhere is messing things up.
