How The Race Was Won – Tour de France 2018 – Stage 12

Posted on 20 July 20184 July 2021 by cosmo

With three hors categorie climbs, Stage 12 was always going to have an impact. Sky played a role, as you might expect, but some strange decisions from the other teams—not to mention the organizers—had an impact, too. Thanks again to Eurosport Cycling for making this happen, and don’t hesitate to click the “no, please help!” link in the upper right of the video player especially if you live in France or outside of Europe as you are likely to have issues with the video if you are in these places.

You missed Dumoulin’s shifting problems right before the sprint (or atleast didn’t mention them), that’s probably why Thomas had a big gap at the finish. He apparently was still in the small ring when Landa attacked and didn’t notice that until he wanted to upshift but couldn’t.

I am in Venice, CA and unfortunately the Tour de France videos do not play. A circle spins.

huh—that is definitely not the desired behavior. Is this happening after you click the “no, please help” link?

My universal reply is also to try using an incognito window, just in case some existing cookie somewhere is messing things up.
