How The Race Was Won™ – Tour of Flanders 2019

Posted on 8 April 20194 July 2021 by cosmo

Flanders is an embarassment of riches—presentation-to-podium coverage, a marvelously brutal course, the biggest crowds, and most thoroughly engaged fans. But surely it’s too big an event to notch your first pro win…

Thanks again to Eurosport Cycling for making this happen, and don’t hesitate to click the “no, please help!” link in the upper right of the video player especially if you live in France or outside of Europe as you are likely to have issues with the video if you are in these places.

    Thank you!

Yours is the FIRST summary of the race I could find. The women’s race even had a highlight video up earlier.

After the race, Van der Poel said he did not know Bettiol was up the road until about 5-7K to go. His team never informed him and he didn’t see him attack on the Kwaremont. Kinda surprising. Great video as always!

    Bravo Bettiol and EF.
    And Cosmo.
And Politt for managing 5th having been dropped on the climbs.
