It hasn’t been the greatest evening/morning for me. Last night, I spent about 4 hours standing upright on very slow, very crowded trains, got home late, found that @UniversalSports is unfamiliar with the concept of fair use, and on top of all that, had to get up early and find a new spot for Third Tuesday.
Fortunately I found this video on Velogogo to put all that awful in perspective:
The soundtrack, and the money shot of Bob Roll Leonard Nitz removing his hairnet helmet around 1:20, really take it to another level for me.
At 1:20 is Leonard Nitiz [check spelling] removing helment
Whomever it is … thank god it wasn’t Bobke taking off anything more than a hair net ..
Brilliant!
For a while, I thought the theme song to the Tour Down Under (Fell the RUSH! The sound of wheels in motion!) was the worst thing ever… but then I found this, and realized I had just seen the father of that terrible son.
*bunny hop*
Got to say some parts of this were filmed in Austin probably around the infamous Tour of Texas.
I absolutely agree. That was another reason I leaned toward thinking that was Bob Roll. Bobke II had an extensive section on the Tour of Texas, if I recall.
As the incomprable Al Trautwig would say, “You, sir, are correct!”
Mike: I was going to say the same thing–I think it’s Leonard Nitz removing helmet–but I’m a dollar short and 10 days late.
spellchecker: You mite be 10 days late but you are on the right bus, Leonard Nitz was at the Tour of Texas and traveling with Leslie Moore {sp} who also raced in the Tour of Texas
Bobke wrote in either a VeloNews or Winning piece that his Tour of Texas entry fee was large bag of pot. Anyone remember reading it?
