How The Race Was Won – Gent-Wevelgem 2009
Apr 10 2009
Yeah, you wanna know why I don’t have any blog posts this week? Because I am too busy making these. Fortunately, I won’t have a three-video week again until the Ardennes, and then hopefully never again after that. On to Roubaix!

Oh yes, also—if this doesn’t work, there are copies on YouTube and Vimeo. I prefer the latter because Sox, a reader of this blog since ’06, is the bomb at design; still, you really ought to try installing Quicktime so the embed on this page will work.

Another excellent job.
Just a suggestion, when you show the Wikipedia at the beginning … crop the name of the 2009 winner for extra suspense! Great analysis as always, especially watching the Euskie attack. Do you have a multimedia RSS feed for your videos?
Always a pleasure. One note: Boonen was there in the break from the beginning but flatted at one point and fell back. This was before live tv started.
Love the video analysis – keep up the great work!
Hi everyone. Thanks for watching these videos.
Al, Dan—glad you’re liking the videos.
Mike—I generally write the videos with the assumption that the viewer has already seen the race, or at least read the results. I generally get these things done 2 days after the race, so the cat tends to be out of the bag by then. I guess I should probably consider putting up something saying it contains spoilers.
Also looking into updating my feeds. Probably come together around the time I update my links and integrate some sort of twitter widget.
Susan—thanks for the tip on Boonen. I figured something must have gone wrong for Q.S to miss the break. I knew he’d flatted, but I hadn’t heard he’d been in the break when he did.
