This comes to mind every time I see a rider riding in a race that’s named after them.
The job opening is significantly better written this time around.
In addition to having the fastest race uploads YouTube, CyclingHub's been branching out into original content, with commentary, rants, and interviews—like this one with BORA-Argon 18’s Jan Barta and Sam Bennett from their Mallorca training camp.
Sometimes (frequently, actually) people complain that things go by too quickly in HTRWW. Sometimes it’s on purpose, usually it’s not.
This gif is probably the best representation of how hard it is to line up the audio with speculative video cut single-handedly. With some more brains on the case and better tech, I bet it’d be easier.
Oh right…#HTRWW on #TDU is posted. Happy belated Australia Day.
"Sponsorship activation" is an ugly term but this is a good example with Soudal and their new sponsorship of the Lotto-Soudal road team. A new take on "sticky bottle"
I’ve noticed the Belgian firms/squads seem particularly good at this (cf. Niels, Etixx-QuickStep). It’s like their sponsors are businesses after an audience or something, instead of bored, spandex-seeking men.
“…[I]t’s not surprising that virtually all legitimate sponsors have fled the sport. It is now financed primarily by bored wealthy men who need a reason to give their wives about why they spend so much time with young leg-shaving men in tight pants”
